This 95sqm apartment renovation in Ljubljana’s city center embodies the concept of softening a contemporary space. The original layout featured angular lines, which we sought to counterbalance with a touch of roundness and organic flow. To achieve this, we replaced conventional partition walls with a unique piece of furniture. Wrapping around a central space from three sides, this custom-designed element serves multiple purposes. Its rounded edges introduce a welcome softness, visually dissolving the starkness of the existing architecture. The central space encircled by this curved furniture piece transforms into a cozy dressing room and wardrobe. This strategic placement not only provides ample storage but also defines a natural flow throughout the apartment. Residents can navigate seamlessly between different areas without encountering traditional, space-consuming corridors. Fulfilling the client’s desire for a bright and inviting atmosphere, we incorporated light-toned finishes throughout the apartment. Warm wooden parquet flooring adds a touch of natural elegance and complements the contemporary feel.
